Getting Around Milan
During Fashion Week

Fashion week (September 22-28, 2026, CNMI calendar) brings clients to Milan from all over the world - and Fashion Week traffic stacks on top of the city's normal congestion. What the data says about moving between shows, airports and appointments, and the mistakes that cost time and money. Research by NexaRide, based on our booking data and our drivers' operational experience.

Data: NexaRide request logs · official CNMI calendar · Comune di Milano taxi tariffs · driver operations at past editions. No provider rankings.

The numbers behind fashion week

What our internal data says.

MetricValueWhat it means
Private car requests~10× a normal weekLike the Monza GP: demand changes by an order of magnitude
Formats requestedAll of them: transfers, hourly, multi-dayThe typical service is not a single ride but a car at disposal
Arrival airportsLinate and MalpensaClients from all over the world, arrivals concentrated just before opening
Critical windowThe pre-show hoursFashion traffic stacks on top of Milan's normal congestion

The bottleneck: the hours before each show

Unlike the GP, the problem is not one big exodus: it is a peak that repeats several times a day, for seven days.

The critical time is before each show, when the movements of buyers, press and guests stack on top of the ordinary traffic of a city that keeps working. The result: urban hops that normally take 15 minutes can take far longer exactly when your margin is zero, because the show calendar waits for no one.

Our drivers' rule is simple: move with a generous time buffer. Plan your trips on "normal day" timings and you arrive late.

Arriving: Linate and Malpensa

Fashion Week brings clients to Milan from all over the world, mostly via Linate and Malpensa, with arrivals concentrated in the days immediately before the calendar opens.

If you land with an appointment already in your diary, the same logic as in-city moves applies: secure the car beforehand, do not go looking for one on arrival.

The formats people actually use

What working guests request during fashion week.

FormatWho it is forWhy during Fashion Week
Car at disposal (hourly)Buyers, press, PR with several stops a dayThe car stays with you between appointments: no waiting, no searching at peak
Multi-day at disposalTeams and guests for the whole weekSame driver who learns your calendar and your pickup points
Single transfersAirport ↔ hotel, individual eventsBooked in advance, with a guaranteed time

The common thread: with fixed appointments, securing your own chauffeur in advance is always the safer play, whatever the format.

Costs: what changes and what does not

Published tariffs where they exist; where they do not, we say so.

OptionPrice during Fashion WeekThe catch
TaxiMeter unchanged (Comune di Milano tariffs: no event mark-up)Availability at peak: finding a free one pre-show is the real challenge
Ride-hailing appsDynamic pricingAt peak the wait stretches and the price climbs exactly when your schedule is fixed
Private chauffeur (NCC)Fixed quote agreed in advance (point-to-point or hourly)With demand at ~10×, it must be booked ahead, not last-minute

The mistakes that cost time (and appointments)

The ones we see repeated every edition.

  • 📱 Expecting app cars to be instantly available. The classic mistake: at Fashion Week peak times immediate availability is not guaranteed, and a delay to a show cannot be recovered.
  • 🕐 Planning trips on "normal day" timings. Fashion traffic stacks on ordinary congestion: without a generous pre-show buffer, you arrive late.
  • 📅 Booking last-minute. With requests at ~10× normal, anyone with fixed appointments who has not secured their own chauffeur in time is left to the mercy of whatever is available.
